What to Expect When Choosing Invisalign

Consultation With Our Dentist

During your first visit to our office, our dentist will conduct a thorough dental exam. The purpose of the exam is to review the status of your current oral health and to resolve any possible dental problems prior to Invisalign treatment. Once an examination has been conducted, our dentist will take impressions of your teeth, which will be used to create your Invisalign aligners. These aligners are then given to you, along with instructions on how to use and take care of them in an efficient manner.

Transparency

Many of our patients love Invisalign because of its transparency. The aligners consist of medical-grade plastic components, allowing orthodontic treatment to remain discreet. Although they are transparent, Invisalign aligners are slightly noticeable when in close proximity.

Versitility

Unlike traditional braces, Invisalign aligners can be removed at your convenience. Although our dentist will recommend wearing them as much as possible throughout your treatment, you are still able to remove the aligners to eat, drink, and take photos for special occasions.

Safety

Invisalign is BPA-free, meaning it does not have any plasticizers or other dangerous toxins that can be released into the mouth.

Duration

The duration of Invisalign all depends on the severity of your case. The average case time for Invisalign treatment is about 12-15 months.

Maintenance

Unlike traditional metal braces, Invisalign aligners are easy to clean. Our dentist will suggest cleaning them every time you remove them, prior to reinsertion. To clean them, you can simply run them under warm water and scrub them with some toothpaste.

Retainers

Once you have completed your Invisalign treatment, our dentist will suggest wearing a retainer. The purpose of the retainer is to prevent your teeth from shifting back into their original positions.
